Onus Architecture Studio was founded in 2022 by the architect Margarita Kyanidou. Today, the studio is an international collective of architects and designers dedicated to creating architecture, landscapes, and spaces that regenerate their environment, enhance daily life, and contribute to resilient, sustainable and future-proof design.
Our team is constantly growing and consists of creative architects with diverse backgrounds and extensive experience across different scales and project types. With professional journeys that include working abroad, we bring an international perspective to every collaboration. The studio’s work has been recognized through multiple awards (e.g. Exteriors 2024, Architizer), featured in exhibitions such as the Biennale of Young Architects, and honored with inclusion in the Architects 100 2024 list — distinctions that reflect our commitment to design excellence and sustainable innovation.

We are driven by a conscious approach to sustainability, rooted in principles of regenerative design, circular economy, and adaptive architecture. Onus works across scales and typologies — from private residences, cultural and public spaces, to strategic masterplans and sustainable interventions. Every project is an opportunity to design spaces that respond to their context, minimize environmental impact, and offer long-term value through thoughtful, experience-driven solutions.
Based in Athens — a city where history, modernity, and environmental challenges converge — we engage with projects across geographies, bringing a design mindset that balances creativity with responsibility. We believe that architecture should quietly transform its surroundings — not through spectacle, but through intelligent, clear, and sustainable design choices.

At Onus, we don’t separate aesthetics from performance, or innovation from practicality. We approach every project with the same core values:
design that regenerates, adapts, and endures.
