Onus Architecture Studio was founded in 2022 by architect the Margarita Kyanidou. Today is a constantly growing international collective of architects and designers dedicated to creating architecture,  that regenerate the environment, enhance daily life, and contribute to resilient, future-proof design. The studio is based in Athens and Thessaloniki and operates internationally, working across different scales with a focus on sustainability, bold architectural synthesis, and long-term impact. It is established with the intention to develop architecture that respects both people and the environment. This approach is shaped by values of equality, high-end architecture, and thoughtful resource use. Each project is an opportunity to support regeneration, innovation and bolt aesthetics spatially, ecologically, and socially.

In just a short time, the studio’s work has received multiple distinctions. Exhibited in the Biennale of Young Architects in 2023  and awarded Platinum and Gold at the Exteriors Awards 2024 in the Sustainable Architecture category and placed in the top Architects 100 List in Greece in 2024. In 2025 recieved the Architizer A+ Award for Best Sustainable Residential Project Worldwide, placing Onus on the global architectural map. Two projects Horizon House and aTREEum House were also selected as winners of the DNA Paris Design Awards, while the studio’s work was featured as a finalist in the Greek Architecture Awards. In recognition of its design philosophy and emerging impact, Onus was named one of the 220 Architectural Studios to Watch Worldwide by Architizer.
